There is no invite code for the Eden Fractal telegram group other than the public URL, which is t.me/edenfractal. I agree we shouldn’t share it everywhere, though it’s often helpful to share the simple URL in some public places to make it easier for people to find, remember, and join the chats.
What would be the benefit of archiving this Telegram group and starting a new one? I think it's best to stay in the current group to keep everything consolidated and simple.
I'd like the ability to archive some of the inactive topics in this group. I just researched this again and it looks like Telegram still hasn’t built this feature. Once it's released, we can organize old topics that haven't been used lately into an archive folder while preserving their content.
In the coming months and years, I expect bots will become much more common and many public communities will need to remove write access for random accounts. We could implement something similar to the Hats Protocol community chat, which requires members to sign an onchain agreement before joining the group chat. Ideally, we could set up different topics with varying permissions based on Respect levels for write (or read) access.
We need to balance simplicity and security—avoiding too much friction for humans while preventing bots from joining easily. I've done some preliminary research into token-gating tools and they seem promising, but I'm not familiar with all the details yet. I think we can continue manually removing scammers for a while, wait for these tools to mature further, and plan out a good strategy together before implementing anything like this.
Thank you for the detailed article and task list, I really appreciate the initiative!
I completely agree that we need to focus on improving our documentation to enhance accessibility, transparency, and forkability this year. You make excellent points, and the tasks you created will help guide our work on fractal documentation. I'm excited to work on this over the coming months, and any help with creating documentation for Eden Fractal is much appreciated.
This could be a great topic to discuss in one of our upcoming town halls. We can then use the transcript from the discussion (along with the video recording and some help from AI) to start completing the tasks. I just created a related project in the Eden Fractal Notion Site with a couple of tasks to review your article and consider adding some items to the Eden Fractal Tasks Database to help coordinate our efforts.
Looking forward to making our documentation much more accessible and helpful!
