I’m thrilled to share Optimism with you!

Optimism is an Ethereum L2 community that is highly aligned with our values for creating public goods and coordinating humanity for everyone’s benefit. There are many great synergies between Optimism and Eden Fractal and I’m excited for profoundly helpful collaborations.

I shared a presentation introducing The Optimism Collective at least week’s meeting and am writing an article to provide a concise introduction with the most helpful details for Eden Fractal community members. I’ll share these resources as soon as possible and am looking forward to hearing your thoughts.

One of the most exciting aspects of Optimism is their dedication to funding public goods in innovative ways. They have an inspiring vision with concepts like Esther’s Pheonix and ‘Impact=Profit’ that aim to reorient traditional incentive mechanisms and reward people for doing work that benefits everyone.

Optimism is pioneering retroactive public goods funding with an initiative called RetroPGF, where hundreds of esteemed Optimism community members vote to allocate funding to people who create public goods. The third round of RetroPGF is starting in the coming weeks and as far as I’m aware it is the largest retroactive public goods funding in the world. The Optimism Collective is planning to distribute 30 million OP in this round of RetroPGF, which is currently about 250x more funding than the next season of Pomelo.

I encourage everyone to learn about RetroPGF and consider how you can earn rewards by creating public goods with Optimism. I’d be happy to discuss this at our upcoming meetings and answer any questions. Our social coordination games and tools for empowering collaborative communities could be of tremendous benefit to help the Optimism Collective improve community participation, accurately identify and evaluate high-impact projects, and sustainably grow their ecosystem.

In fact, I have been in communication with the Optimism Grants Council and worked with Tadas, Vlad and Rosmari to submit a proposal seeking funding to launch an "Optimism Fractal" community – tailoring our proven framework to specifically support and empower builders in the Optimism ecosystem.

If you are inspired to create public goods and explore the possibilities enabled by Ethereum Layer 2 technology, I highly recommend engaging with Optimism.
