My updates are fairly similar to what I shared in the agenda for last week and I haven’t prepared an agenda for this week yet. One of the things that I’m thinking about today is joining the Onchain Summer Buildathon hosted by Base. The post just came out and I don’t understand it fully but I’ll do more research into it and think about if we should apply before the deadline on May 29th. Base provides a huge opportunity for fractals and I’ll share more about this when I have a better understanding.
I’m also working to introduce a new fractal app chat channel and the related notion projects in the Optimism Fractal discord to help the community coordinate app development. This was inspired by a discussion with Hodlon about the IC-Fractal app at a recent event. I plan to focus on the proposal for Joshua after this and will follow up here as soon as possible. Over the past week there have also been several projects/communities that have expressed a lot of interest in starting a fractal (including Mode Network), so I expect that there will be a lot of demand for an EVM fractal app once it’s available.
If you haven’t seen it already, I recommend reading the new article that Tadas shared in the Optimism Fractal chat. It reflects on our work developing the app over the past months and includes ideas for how to improve fractal software development going forward. I’m curious to hear your thoughts about this and the notes above…

I think the 100th event or two year anniversary would be an excellent time to deploy Eden Fractal smart contracts on Base. We could promote this at the event and make promotional posts in the Base community at the time. There are several opportunities that I can apply to help us get attention and funding in the Base community, such as Onchain Summer II and other opportunities that I started curating here.
Eden Fractal is also starting to attract a lot of participants from the EVM ecosystem (for example there were 7 attendees yesterday and most were from Optimism) and we’ll need to start making group decisions again soon, so having the contracts deployed and playing the Respect Game again would be very helpful. It would also be really helpful to start awarding contributors who help implement fractal decision-making processes throughout society as we’re starting to reach a turning point where Eden Fractal is ready to focus more externally on fractal growth.
Let me know if you think that documenting the process of deploying the contract would be helpful for others. I’d be happy to help however I can.

The word "competition" derives from the Latin word "competere," which is composed of two parts: "com-" (meaning "together") and "petere" (meaning "to strive" or "to seek"). So, the literal meaning of "competere" is "to strive together" or "to seek together."
In Latin, "competere" was used to describe the act of meeting or coming together, especially for a contest or rivalry. Over time, the meaning shifted to emphasize the rivalry aspect, referring to the act of striving against others for a prize or goal.
The word "competition" first appeared in English in the early 17th century, and it retained the same meaning as its Latin root, referring to the act of competing against others for a prize or advantage.
