2:00 Vlad went thru Dans mission proposal , liked it because it’s getting to the core of Eden fractal. It can get maximum value. It ultimately depends what you want to achieve, whether it be EOS, antelope, building decentralized governance. All of these goals would work and have value in Eden fractal. Vlad personally wants to bring value to antelope, explains why and how we could capitalize on that.
5:24 Dan provides a little context on conversation, What’s being discussed is mission for Eden fractal. Dan gives recap on previous proposals and conversations on mission proposals. Inspired a little by Kevin Owocki podcast, aligned around the vision knowing truth, building cores, etc. If we focus only on EOS , many don’t know what EOS is. New idea for mission statement , very much inspired by Vlad’s initial proposal. But more agnostic about EOS or any particular blockchain. Three different potential options, first one is to create public goods, foster collaboration to empower communities. The second one very similar but adds consensus games, last just switches the order of focus. Thinking about making this proposal by next week. One reason why is many question the mission, better to set a mission, rally around a common cause, if needed changes can be made later. This proposal opens us up to a wider audience, still including antelope and EOS. Gives examples on how to value contributions. Aaron Cox sent Dan free account codes for EOS account for new members.
13:10 Vlad comments in regards to the mission, I like when it’s simple. The simpler the better. Foster collaboration encompasses within itself empowering communities and public goods. May not be necessary to point those out separately. Eden’s fractal mission is to Foster collaboration is more succinct.
14:24 Dan agrees about simplicity, interested in exploring shortened version, gives his reason why the added context. Questions the word foster as best word. Gives his reasoning why he’s for additional wording.
19:01 Vlad comments each phase is good, agrees with each part, a good thing to rally around. Both the mission statements are good equally, toss a coin and go with that
20:30 Dan thinks it’s best to propose this at next upcoming meeting, the proposal with all 3 statements.
21:22 Vlad shares a thought that came after readings on sociocracy and holocracy, Comparing to Eden fractal experimenting with consensus system. It’s fairly inefficient because it takes time for everyone to be on same page. Knowledge is needed to make decision. Had long conversation with chat GPT talking about holocracy. It seems more efficient. Essentially holocracy decisions are made by individuals, can only exercise power in their domain. Thinking how to combine holocracy with fractal process. Vlad goes deeper into explanation on bringing this procedure into Eden fractal for quicker decisions
27:10 Dan has thoughts on Vlad’s idea, thinks it can be rooted in fractal process. Gives his thoughts on Vlad’s idea. Sees a lot of value, explains idea of having someone as a CEO. Some confusion may come from this, some members may see things differently. Ultimately different people are leading in different aspects, which has been fine. Using moderating vote as an example of CEO status or leading. Once moderator was formalized it gave more direction to the process. Sometimes formalizing positions can possibly tone down discussion.
34:23 Vlad comments that the roles have been created naturally, when a need was there each person created and took responsibility. Sometimes setting a vision. Lead link has other responsibility runs day to day , rep link is like a foreign minister. If part of circle, he maintains link with main circle to focus on.
37:15 Dan asked Vlad about lead link, trying to define. Two forms of structures, formal and informal. Previously needs were filled, informal structure are what has been done so far and working for us ie Vlad saw a need, he filled it, Dan saw a need , he filled it, Tadas saw a need , he filled it and so forth. We all just did different things based on our capabilities and were allocated respect. Then formal process started with delegates and council. Those are lead links Dan sees.
39:26 Vlad comments he could be elected within the community, multiple rounds to elect chief delegate who is lead link
39:47 Dan comments: interesting, first intuition if delegates wanted to elect lead link they could do so, flaw Dan sees a large amount of latency. Goes into different vote methods done else ware. Sees benefit in weekly election, if doing a good job the6 can stay if not they get voted out
43:05 Vlad states if election is every week there is potential that lead link would change every week and wouldn’t work. Inefficiency comes from no decision. One week for lead link is not enough. Different ways to elect lead link. Hypha for each role, automatically for month period, than must reapply
45:18 Dan comments Vlad’s mentioning person with most respect. Might not want responsibility. Eden plus fractal over Eden election system. Eden election system has a lot more randomness. Eden fractal plus has higher resolution of measurements. Talks about de coupling respect as in Tadas eden+fractal. Unsure if necessary to have a lead link, thinks delegates might be better.can see a benefit from formalizing roles.

50:09 Vlad believes there is a need for both, also huge need for delegates. See value with Eden plus fractal decentralizing the treasury. Helps pass decisions. For example, ZEOS it’s perfect because contract needs to be secure. But at same time delegates could work together to change perimeters in smart contract, nice balance. But not good for day to day operations, still valuable but ultimate decision is not sufficient if too many deciding.
52:31 Dan thinks the delegates may be able to play that role. Lead link is worth exploring. The idea appointing Vlad as lead link for web app is good, spelled at clearly to avoid unnecessary conversations
55:37 Vlad thinks it’s inefficient if delegates are creating roles. They always take too much time to make a decision
55:04 Dans impression think most people are okay with Vlad lead link , if topic comes up community can say it agreed
56:42 Vlad says now imagine payments, how much should that person be paid, discussion etc. It would take a lot of time for delegates to come to decision, not seeing point of creating proposals. So many details it becomes a waste of time going in circles.
58:06 Dan sees a large value in proposals, expressing opinion of community. It’s valuable because community should have ability to say things. There’s value in that. If there’s no proposal, there’s ambiguity. When a proposal is passed the community has a final answer. Comments on the web app
1:01:23 Vlad states there is not much value if he would know if continued building web app
1:01:34 Dan comments the value would be in more efficient time in meeting time. When Perry ask about, at this point there is no community opinion
1:01:48 Vlad states now where getting into moderator guideline territory
1:03:00 Dan replies he doesn’t want to mute Perry but if he had a formalized opinion as a moderator Dan could say the community has agreed on this topic, let’s move on. Dan explains to Vlad missed conversation on Perry’s conversation
1:05:10 Vlad comments to Dan your the CEO of the meeting so you could do whatever you want.
1:05:38 Dan comments he hasn’t been elected as CEO , the community can provide to signals , I try to do the best for the community. Doesn’t want to mute people being to disrespectful. Thanks Vlad for his comment and thanks Vlad for his excellent work. Asks if Vlad agrees to share this video
1:07:19 Vlad agrees it should be shared, calling it discussing Eden fractal stuff.
1:07:49 Dan also is planning on proposing agreements and policy. English speaking and video recordings, having people sign agreement . Could it be Implemented in the interface, feasibility of putting on Webb app
1:09:00 Vlad thinks it’s necessary to clarify that English is a must, and that it’s being recorded. But sees little value for it to be on chain. Thinks it should be included in introductory
1:10:18 Dan thinks it’s helpful to have on chain because it’s immutable, valuable showing they read and agreed to it
1:10:31 Vlad agrees to disagree
1:10:38 Dan asks Vlad if the proposal is okay with him and would he would be okay with adding it to the Web app
1:10:43 Vlad responds yes to first, No to second. Doesn’t see value in that
1:10:20 Thank you, great conversation Discussing Eden Fractal Stuff! Adios!
