Updating the Community Account
Hey all! In this episode the group talks about community keys, permissions and configuration for the eden.fractal msig account. MSIGs, or multi-signatory arrangements, are a vitally important and profoundly helpful tool that enable communities to flexibly share permissions for actions on community computers (such as EOS or Ethereum). You can read more on what is an MSIG in this article: edencreators.com/msig, along with notes on all previous msig discussions.
The group voted the topic on updating the msig as a leading discussion for this episode, after Patrick and CAC requested to be removed from the msig recently. There was a highly engaging collaborative approach amongst players on ways to optimise the MSIG’s current structure. The exciting discussion lasted for over an hour between at 1:05:53 - 2:31:39. For more details, further below are some msig focused highlights, along with timestamps.
During the meeting, Dan introduced MSIG as one of the four topics to discuss. Tadas suggested changing the owner permission, whilst also considering that Vlad’s solution may not address MSIG signing problems. Dan and the team talked about Vlad’s newly developed app, which includes automatically updating MSIG permissions and reward disbursement Tadas, Dan, Rosmari, Perry and Joe agreed that priority should be to change owner permissions. Jorge and Noam brainstormed various technicalities to consider when making future proposals.
The group agreed on the desire for a concrete proposal, which will be proposed and discussed during the next meeting as part of the fractal process in Consortium. Consortium is a tool that Eden Fractal members use to propose, upvote and choose topics during EF meetings. Towards the end of the meeting, Dan presented a spreadsheet showing members’ respect in the past few weeks, which in fact, is a spreadsheet that was used during the Eden Fractal anniversary. Finally, the participants discussed next steps on when they’ll reconnect again with the aim to reach consensus on updating the structure of the msig.
Enjoy! ✨🔐
